The Upper Norwood Library Hub came into community ownership in July 2016. Located in the heart of Crystal Palace, the Libary Hub is a social enterprise providing cultural, learning and educational space. We offer an extensive range of events, courses, activities and an outreach programme that runs alongside its library lending service provided by Lambeth council. Applicants will not need prior experience in working in, or managing, a library but must be sympathetic to the principles of a community space that includes a library. Entrepreneurial by nature we believe in pushing the boundaries of what a library should offer and are constantly looking for new opportunities to develop all aspects of our business.
We are recruiting for the following two positions:
Programme Development Manager
Crystal Palace, London. 21 hours per week, flexible working with some evening and weekends will be required. Salary: £24,000 – £27,000
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and experienced Programme Development Manager to support the hub directors in developing and delivering our community projects, developing and growing relationships and partnership with key stakeholders, designing and developing programmes and activities for the local community, delivering community focused programmes and overseeing our volunteering programme.
You will have experience of community organising or community engagement, experience of developing community learning and outreach projects, project management and programme delivery within a community setting, some experience of fundraising/supporting income generating activities for community projects and volunteer support/management.
Library Hub Manager
Crystal Palace, London. 35 hours, flexible working considered. Some evening and weekends will be required: Salary: £24,000 – £27,000
We are seeking a commercially minded hub manager to maximise existing business streams and develop new opportunities to increase revenue; manage the hub services team, day to day operations and building services working closely with the Programme Development Manager.
You will have excellent business development, customer services and interpersonal skills, some line/team management experience and be prepared to take an entrepreneurial and dynamic approach to developing our new kind of community learning hub, working closely with our energetic team to drive an innovative learning model.
